Inspired by powerful Egyptian and American women leaders, Cleopatra to Coretta is an international exchange program supporting the dialogue of globally-minded female journalists and media professionals to build relationships and promote hero narratives of women making an impact in their community.
Cleopatra to Coretta aims to bridge the gap between the East and the West, to identify and mentor emerging women leaders in the field of journalism and media, and to create new networks of engagement for globally-minded female professionals.
I was tasked with creating the branding for Cleopatra to Coretta, including a logo and color scheme. The intended messaging was amplification of voice, sharing, and cross-cultural exchange.
I created an interlocked C design to convey connection and togetherness. I chose purple as the main color because purple is a strong color cross-culturally and symbolizes wealth and royalty. In Egypt specifically, purple relates to virtue.
